According to the Scientific American, It’s Getting Harder for Forests to Recover from Disasters. With record-breaking natural disasters impacting the Insurance Industry, this also gives us a pulse on our environment and the way our forests may be impacted. For this reason, Pekin Insurance is trying to reduce our carbon footprint.

For the past year, from Arbor Day 2023 through Arbor Day 2024, Pekin Insurance committed to planting one tree for every 100 policies that chose our paperless billing option. Our agents also stepped up to the plate, encouraging policyholders to choose paperless billing, both for its convenience and environmental impact! 

MVP Insurance Agency of Orland Park, IL provided the highest volume of paperless billing policies during this one-year period. Jerry and Wendy Thompson, agency owners and frequent National Park goers said, “All of us here at MVP believe in keeping America beautiful. We make a point to go to a national park every year,” said Jerry and Wendy. We are proud to announce that Pekin Insurance and MVP Insurance Agency will be planting 34 trees at a United States Reforestation Project through the organization One Tree Planted. On top of this, Pekin Insurance is also making an in-kind donation of 66 trees to round the total trees planted to 100! One Tree Planted is a non-profit organization that seeks to make it simple for anyone to help the environment by planting trees. Since 2014, they have planted over 135 million trees!
