Eric Gravelle Named Vice President - Life Actuary

Pekin Life Insurance Company is pleased to announce the addition of Erik Gravelle as their new Vice President - Life Actuary. Erik brings more than 20 years of experience to the Pekin Insurance team, which includes a focus on Life Insurance actuarial functions and Life product development.
He previously worked for Pekin Life Insurance Company as a Corporate Actuary before departing in 2013. Since his departure, he grew his career at Erie Family Life Insurance Company, serving as Vice President – Product Management and most recently, working as Vice President, Marketing Actuary for SCOR Global Life Americas. He has extensive industry knowledge and experience with product management.
Erik attended Illinois Wesleyan University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and Secondary Education. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA).
Erik commented, “I’m very excited to be back with Pekin Insurance and working with so many great people, some of whom I’ve known for years and some that are new connections. There are a lot of challenges we have ahead of us and opportunities to take advantage of, and Pekin Insurance has a great team in place to tackle these challenges. I’m thrilled to be back and be a part of this team!”
In his free time, Erik enjoys spending time with his wife and 3 kids, reading, hiking, and biking. He is a diehard Chicago Bears and Chicago White Sox fan. Believing in the importance of volunteering, Erik has served on the Board of Directors for the Fairview Parks and Recreation Authority and served as a sponsor for Erie Insurance’s Multigenerational Affinity Network, focusing on Diversity and Inclusion Efforts.
In his new role at Pekin Life Insurance Company, Erik will primarily focus on product management, including new product development, within the Life Company and report to Jocelyn Duncan, Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer/Life and Senior Vice President/P&C. Life actuarial and regulatory compliance functions will report through Erik.
